Everlance is a mileage and expense tracker first: it detects trips automatically in the background and, on its top plan, includes 1099 tax filing. BrassWell is a money app for the whole business: income, invoices, quarterly tax and a mileage log. If driving is most of your work, that difference matters more than any feature list.

Where Everlance is the better choice

Automatic trip detection. Everlance has recorded drives in the background for a decade, so a trip you forget to log still gets logged. BrassWell records a drive by GPS once you start it, even with the phone locked, but it doesn’t detect trips on its own.

Filing included. Everlance Professional includes federal and state 1099 filing and audit defense in its $119.99 a year.

Cheaper if miles are all you need. A free plan with 30 automatic trips a month, and Starter at $89.99 a year.

Where BrassWell is the better choice

The rest of the business. Invoices with your own payment link, time tracking that bills itself, budgets and goals. Everlance does none of these; its own description says it doesn’t handle invoicing.

Quarterly tax through the year. BrassWell estimates what you owe on the 2026 brackets and your state rate on every plan, shows what each due date needs, and reminds you before it.

A trial that can’t surprise you. Fourteen days of Core with no card, and nothing charged when it ends. Everlance’s seven-day trial takes a card and bills automatically.

A year of each, in dollars

Everlance Starter is $89.99 a year and Professional, with filing, is $119.99. BrassWell is $199 a year for Core or $299 for Pro, and does not file. If you only need miles, Everlance is the cheaper tool. If you invoice and pay quarterly, the comparison is BrassWell against Everlance plus an invoicing app and a tax estimate.

Moving your mileage across

Everlance exports your trips as CSV or PDF. BrassWell imports a CSV of income and expenses and skips likely duplicates. Keep Everlance’s export with your records either way: the original log is what supports the deduction if it is ever questioned.

Questions, answered

Is BrassWell an Everlance alternative?

If mileage is only part of what you need, yes. Everlance is an automatic mileage and expense tracker with filing on its top plan; BrassWell adds invoicing, budgets and quarterly tax estimates on every plan, and a mileage log and time tracking on Pro.

Does Everlance do invoicing?

No. Everlance describes itself as not a full accounting platform and says it does not handle invoicing or payroll.

How much does Everlance cost?

Everlance lists a free Basic plan, Starter at $10.99 a month or $89.99 a year, and Professional at $19.99 a month or $119.99 a year. Paid plans have a 7-day trial that needs a card.

What mileage rate does 2026 use?

72.5 cents a mile through June 30, 2026, and 76 cents from July 1. BrassWell applies the rate by each trip’s date; our free mileage deduction calculator shows what your miles are worth.
